Black cast iron Union Female/Female Elbow plumbing fitting

This Union Elbow Fitting is ideal for creating complex closed structures (squares, rectangles) in cast iron and steel plumbing fittings. Compatible with all black or galvanised cast iron fittings and black or galvanised steel threaded pipes of the same size sold in our online shop. The parts simply screw together, without welding, to make strong assemblies easily.

Description of the Union Elbow fitting:

The Union makes it easy to connect structural parts that would otherwise be impossible to tighten properly due to the right-hand threads on all the parts. The Union plumbing fitting is made up of three parts: two screw-on pieces on either side of the fittings to be connected and a nut that joins the two parts together.

Premium union features and uses:

The male/female union elbow connects two threaded steel pipes or two male plumbing fittings. Ideal for large structures, it allows the structure to be broken down into smaller elements, making final assembly easier. Perfect for creating closed structures such as squares or rectangles.

The problem:

Let's imagine a square structure made up of four elbows and four Pipes. Because of the right-hand threads on all the pipes and elbow inlets, it is impossible to screw the last pipe to close the square. The solution is to screw two of the parallel pipes into the elbows on one side, then screw them into the opposite elbows, which will unscrew them from the side already screwed in. The result will be a square with badly screwed pipes, and therefore a less than rigid structure. Not ideal for a bookcase or table base!

The solution provided by the Union fitting:

Simply replace two elbows with two Union elbows to allow the structure to be assembled by dividing it into two parts.

Our fittings, although used for decoration, are genuine malleable cast iron plumbing components with a white core, complying with EN 10242 and ISO49 standards. They offer superior quality and unrivalled robustness. The threads on this piece are BSPT (ISO 7-1 standard) with cylindrical tapped female ends.
