For this assembly, the shelves are assembled with floor flanges. The wooden shelf is clamped between 2 flanges, then simply bolted (screw + nut) by aligning the fixing holes of the flanges. This is a simple alternative to assembling the pipe "through the shelf". The only disadvantage is the space taken up by the flange on top of the shelf.
