Brass Meter Union Half ISO 228-1
Brass half union meter fitting compliant with ISO 228-1 (BSPP) for connecting water and gas meters. This half union fitting constitutes half of a union fitting, enabling easy assembly and disassembly of the meter.
Description of the Half Union Meter Fitting ISO 228-1
This half union fitting is designed to assemble with a swivel nut on a water or gas meter. The ISO 228-1 (BSPP) parallel gas thread is the standard used in French domestic installations for meter connections.
It enables easy meter removal for maintenance or replacement, without having to disassemble the entire pipework. Sealing is ensured by the flat gasket tightened between the two half union fittings.

Installation tips
- Use PTFE tape (Teflon) or hemp to ensure sealing on male threads
- For flat gasket seats, use a flat gasket with a minimum thickness of 1 mm
- Tighten with an open-end spanner ou adjustable spanner — do not use pliers to avoid marking the fitting
- Apply moderate tightening torque — excessive tightening may damage the thread
