This page gathers the dimensioned drawings and dimension tables for the whole range of BSP threaded brass fittings sold on Home Invasion: sockets, nipples, reducing bushes, elbows, tees, crosses, nuts, unions and plugs. Each family is presented once, with its drawing, its dimensions by size and a direct link to the product page.
- Find the family in the contents, then the letter of the dimension you need on the drawing (G, ØD, L, E, H, S…).
- Read the value in the matching column of the table, on the row for your thread size.
- The specifications shared by the whole range (material, thread, pressure, certifications) are grouped at the top of the page and are not repeated for each fitting.
Specifications shared by the whole range
All the fittings on this page share the same material, the same thread type and the same operating conditions. This data comes from the manufacturer's technical data sheet.
- Material
- CW617N brass (CuZn40Pb2), an alloy listed on the 4MS positive list for contact with drinking water.
- Thread
- Threaded ends to ISO 228-1 (G thread, also known as BSPP or parallel pipe thread). Only the meter union half ref. 2309 has a taper R end to ISO 7-1, designed to screw onto a steel pipe installation.
- Working pressure
- PN 16 (16 bar).
- Temperatures
- Depending on the sealing method chosen (EPDM flat gasket, conical metal-to-metal seat, PTFE or hemp).
- Applications
- Drinking water supply, general plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). Fluids: drinking water, glycol water and fluids compatible with brass.
- Drinking water certifications
- Complies with the French decree of 25 June 2020 on metallic materials and products in contact with water intended for human consumption, and with the 4MS requirements (European harmonisation of certification rules for materials in contact with drinking water).
- Tightening
- Spanner flats suited to standard spanners on every fitting: dimension S in the tables gives the spanner size.
- Sealing
- Flat, wide gasket seats on male and female ends: flat-gasket sealing is guaranteed from a gasket thickness of 1 mm.
- Installation
- Apply a moderate tightening torque and choose mutually compatible materials to limit the risk of galvanic corrosion (see manufacturer's notice N-1280 and our advice at the bottom of the page).
Reading the dimensions on the drawings
The same letters are used on every drawing on this page. A letter followed by a number (L1, L2, E1, S2…) denotes the same dimension for each end or each part of a multi-piece fitting.
G, G1, G2- Thread size of each end, in inches. On reducing fittings, G1 is the large side and G2 the small side.
ØD- Internal bore diameter for fluid flow, in mm.
L, L1, L2, L3, L4- Thread length (usable screw-in depth) of each end, or length of a section marked on the drawing.
E, E1, E2- Overall length from one end to the other, or from the face of an end to the centreline for elbows and tees. This is the overall envelope dimension.
H, H1, H2- Height from the face of the end to the fitting centreline (elbows, tees, crosses), or across-flats dimension of an internal hexagon (straight union).
S, S1, S2, S3- Across-flats dimension: the spanner size to use. HEX indicates a hexagonal body, OCT an octagonal body.
ØA- Outer diameter of the bearing flange of the flanged lock nut.
U- Thread size of the swivel nut on flat seat unions, in inches.
R- Size of the ISO 7-1 taper thread on the pipe end of the meter union half ref. 2309.
Weight- Unit mass in kilograms.
All dimensions are in millimetres, weights in kilograms, threads in inches.
G thread sizes (ISO 228-1)
Sizes are expressed in inches, a convention inherited from the Whitworth thread: the figure matches neither the outside diameter nor the bore. This table gives the correspondence with the pipe designation in mm used on the product pages, the DN and the actual thread diameter.
| Size | Pipe designation (mm) | DN | Thread outside diameter (mm) | Threads per inch | Pitch (mm) |

A taper male R thread (EN 10226 cast iron fittings, steel pipes) screws into a G female thread of the same size: diameters and pitches are identical, only the taper differs. Mixed assemblies of black cast iron and brass, widely used in decoration, are therefore possible with PTFE or hemp sealing.
Straight fittings: sockets and nipples
In-line connecting pieces between two pipes or two fittings of the same size.
Equal Socket F/F with Stopref. 1270
Straight female/female socket with a central stop: both male threads bottom out against it, which guarantees identical engagement on both sides. This is the standard socket for extending a run of threaded pipes or joining two nipples.

Typical assemblies with the fittings on this page
Three common assemblies, made up solely of references available in the shop.
Connecting a water meter
Two meter union halves ref. 2308, one on each side of the meter, to fit and remove it without unscrewing the line. Until the meter is fitted, the connecting tube ref. 2311, 110 or 170 mm long, keeps the line closed.
Passing through a wall or a panel
A threaded barrel connector ref. 2310 locked by two flanged lock nuts ref. 1609, one on each side of the wall. The lock nut ref. 1613 serves as an additional locking nut to fix the orientation of a fitting.
Closing off an unused outlet
Male plug ref. 1291 to close a female fitting (tee, cross, socket), female plug ref. 1300 to close the end of a pipe or a nipple.
Using brass fittings correctly
Brass behaves differently from malleable cast iron: softer, more conductive and supplied with a parallel thread, it calls for a few simple precautions to achieve a leak-tight, long-lasting assembly.
Sealing a G thread
A parallel thread is not self-sealing. On unions, union halves and nuts, the flat gasket (or the conical seat) provides the seal: add nothing to the nut thread. On a male/female joint without a seat (nipple in an elbow, pipe in a socket), use PTFE tape (three to four turns in the direction of screwing) or hemp with jointing paste.
Tightening torque
Brass is softer than cast iron: tighten with an open-ended spanner on the flats provided (dimension S), until contact and then a quarter to half a turn more, without forcing. Over-tightening with hemp can crack a female fitting. Never use water pump pliers directly on the threads or on polished surfaces.
Galvanic corrosion
Brass pairs without problem with copper, stainless steel and brass or bronze fittings. Direct, prolonged contact with galvanized steel or cast iron in the presence of water creates a galvanic couple that accelerates corrosion of the steel: on a water installation, limit such contacts or insert a suitable piece. Dry, in decorative use, this mix poses no problem.
Mixing brass and black cast iron
The cast iron fittings in the shop have a taper R/Rp thread (EN 10226) with the same diameters and pitches as the G thread of the brass: a cast iron male screws into a brass female and vice versa. This is what makes two-tone black and gold assemblies possible, much appreciated for shelves, lamps and coat hooks. Seal with PTFE if the assembly carries a fluid.
Drinking water
The CW617N alloy of this range is on the 4MS list and complies with the French decree of 25 June 2020: the fittings are suitable for networks carrying water intended for human consumption. Flush the installation before commissioning. For particularly aggressive water (very soft, high in chlorides), ask for advice: a dezincification-resistant brass (DZR, CW602N) may be preferable.
Temperature and pressure
The range is rated for 16 bar. The maximum temperature depends on the seal: an EPDM flat gasket commonly works from -30 to +120 °C, conical metal-to-metal seats (ref. 221 and 222) have no such limit, PTFE and hemp withstand domestic hot water and heating. Brass is not intended for steam.
Choosing your spanner
Column S in the tables gives the open-ended spanner size directly: for example 23 mm for a 1/2" socket, 29 mm for a 3/4", 36 mm for a 1". Octagonal bodies (OCT) are tightened with an adjustable spanner or a protected pipe wrench.
Appearance and care
Raw brass develops a patina on contact with air and fingers: the gold colour shifts towards a warmer, matt tone. To keep the shine, polish with a copper and brass cleaner then protect with a clear lacquer; for an aged look, let time do its work. The fittings are neither lacquered nor chrome-plated when they leave the factory.
Frequently asked questions
Answers drawn from the manufacturer's data and the tables on this page.
Are the brass fittings compatible with the black cast iron fittings on the site?
Yes. The cast iron fittings have a taper R/Rp thread (EN 10226) with the same diameters and pitches as the G thread to ISO 228-1 of the brass: a cast iron male screws into a brass female and vice versa. Allow for PTFE or hemp if the assembly carries a fluid.
Can these fittings be used for drinking water?
Yes. The CW617N alloy is on the 4MS list and the range complies with the French decree of 25 June 2020 on metallic materials and products in contact with water intended for human consumption.
What pressure and temperature can they withstand?
The range is rated for 16 bar (PN 16). The maximum temperature depends on the sealing method chosen: EPDM flat gasket, conical metal-to-metal seat, PTFE or hemp. The manufacturer does not publish a single temperature for the range.
What do the letters G, ØD, L, E and S on the drawings mean?
G is the thread size in inches, ØD the bore diameter, L the thread length of each end, E the overall length or the dimension from the face of the end to the centreline, S the across-flats dimension that gives the spanner size. The glossary at the top of the page details every letter.
Which spanner is needed to tighten a brass fitting?
An open-ended spanner whose size matches dimension S in the fitting's table, for example 23 mm for a 1/2" socket without stop and 29 mm for a 3/4". The spanner size table groups these values by size.
How do you read the size of a fitting: 1/2", 15/21, DN 15?
These are three designations of the same size: 1/2" is the thread size in inches, 15/21 the pipe designation in mm (inside/outside) used on the product pages, DN 15 the nominal diameter. The thread size table gives all the correspondences.
