Brass Lock Nut
Brass lock nut to secure a threaded fitting in position. This standard hexagonal lock nut screws onto a male thread to prevent the fitting from loosening. ISO 228-1 BSPP standard.
Brass Lock Nut Description
This hexagonal lock nut screws onto a male thread alongside a main fitting to lock it in position. It prevents gradual loosening caused by vibrations or temperature variations in the system.
Its 6-sided profile allows precise tightening with a wrench. Widely used in plumbing to secure connections, it is also suitable for decorative purposes such as fixing elements on threaded rods (light fixtures, shelves).

Installation tips
- Use PTFE tape (Teflon) or hemp to ensure sealing on male threads
- For flat gasket seats, use a flat gasket with a minimum thickness of 1 mm
- Tighten with an open-end wrench or adjustable wrench — do not use slip-joint pliers to avoid damaging the fitting
- Apply moderate tightening torque — over-tightening may damage the thread
