The 90° reducing tee triple female (FFF) in hot-dip galvanized malleable cast iron is a fundamental branching fitting. Its smart design creates a 90° branch on a main run while reducing the diameter for the new branch—all in a single piece.
What is a reducing tee for?
This multifunction fitting is essential for size transitions within a network. It replaces a combination of an equal tee plus a reducer, offering a more compact, economical, and reliable solution (one fewer potential leak point). Typical uses:
- Create branches: The go‑to fitting for feeding equipment (radiator, tap, gauge) with a smaller size from a main distribution riser.
- Optimize the network: Adjust flow and pressure by reducing the branch size.
- DIY builds: In industrial‑style projects, it offers flexibility to vary tube diameters and create visually dynamic structures.
Technical Features (EN 10242 Compliance)
Manufactured to EN 10242 for optimal quality and reliability.
- High‑Quality Material: Malleable cast iron (EN‑GJMW‑400‑5).
- Anti‑Corrosion Protection: Hot‑dip galvanized (approx. 70 µm), ensuring long life and an industrial raw look.
- Standard Female Threads (BSP): All three female threads are parallel (Rp) to ISO 7‑1. They receive male taper threads (R) and require sealant for a perfect connection.
Indicative Dimensions
Dimensions are listed as [Inlet 1] – [Branch Outlet] – [Inlet 2]. Centre‑to‑end dimensions are measured from the fitting centerline to each face.
Thread | A / B – Centre‑to‑End (mm) | Approx. Weight |
---|---|---|
3/4" – 1/2" – 3/4" | ~ 38 / 35 mm | ~ 0.22 kg |
1" – 1/2" – 1" | ~ 46 / 41 mm | ~ 0.36 kg |
1" – 3/4" – 1" | ~ 46 / 43 mm | ~ 0.38 kg |
Note: “A” is the centre‑to‑end on the main outlets; “B” is that of the reduced branch.
Installation Tip
During assembly, pay close attention to orientation so the reduced branch exits in the correct direction. Seal the three male threads you will screw into the tee.
