2-core or 3-core?

2-core (2×0.75): for a complete Class II luminaire with double or reinforced insulation and no earth connection, in accordance with its instructions.
3-core (3×0.75): with a protective earth conductor, for a complete Class I luminaire requiring an earth connection, in accordance with its instructions. The choice depends on the protection class of the complete luminaire and its instructions, not on the material alone. The cable’s double insulation does not determine the luminaire’s protection class. For a DIY assembly or if in doubt, have the complete assembly checked by a qualified person.
