The 90° Union Elbow Male/Female (MF) is a technical, versatile fitting. It integrates a 90° elbow, mixed Male/Female ends, and a demountable union for maximum flexibility during installation or maintenance.
What is a Male/Female union elbow for?
This fitting is perfect for connecting equipment or pipework while retaining the option to disassemble later. Its Male/Female configuration is particularly useful to:
- Connect equipment: Ideal for directly joining a device with a male outlet (e.g., circulator, filter) to female‑ended pipework—or the other way round.
- Finish an installation: Joins two fixed pipe sections (one male, one female) where a standard threaded joint cannot be made up.
- Simplify maintenance: Loosening the central nut separates the connection so a component can be removed without cutting pipes.
The union section seals via a high‑precision metal‑to‑metal conical seat, requiring no gasket there.
Technical Features (EN 10242 Compliance)
Manufactured to EN 10242 for optimal quality and reliability.
- High‑Quality Material: Malleable cast iron (EN‑GJMW‑400‑5).
- Anti‑Corrosion Protection: Hot‑dip galvanized (approx. 70 µm), ensuring long life and an industrial raw look.
- Conical Seat Sealing: Union with metal‑to‑metal cone seat for durable sealing.
- Connection Threads: Combines a male taper thread (R) and a female parallel thread (Rp) to ISO 7‑1.
Indicative Dimensions
Bulkier than a standard elbow.
Thread | A / B – Centre‑to‑End (mm) | Approx. Weight |
---|---|---|
1/2'' (15x21 mm) | ~ 45 / 45 mm | ~ 0.30 kg |
3/4'' (20x27 mm) | ~ 52 / 52 mm | ~ 0.44 kg |
1'' (26x34 mm) | ~ 60 / 60 mm | ~ 0.65 kg |
Note: A and B are the centre‑to‑end dimensions on each side of the fitting.
Installation Tip
Seal the Male (R) and Female (Rp) threads with hemp or another suitable product. Do not apply sealant to the union’s conical seats. Tighten the central nut firmly to ensure metal‑to‑metal contact.
