The 90° reducing elbow Female‑Female (FF) in hot-dip galvanized malleable cast iron is a two‑in‑one fitting. It changes direction at a right angle while reducing the line size.
What is a reducing elbow for?
This smart fitting avoids assembling a standard elbow with a separate reducer. Ideal for:
- Create a smaller branch: Perfect for tapping a secondary line (e.g., feeding a 1/2'' tap from a 3/4'' main).
- Save space: Combining two functions makes the installation more compact and neater than a multi‑piece build.
- Reduce leak points: Fewer fittings mean fewer threaded joints to seal and a more reliable system.
- Design applications: In industrial‑style projects, it enables complex structures with smooth, integrated size changes.
Technical Features (EN 10242 Compliance)
Manufactured to EN 10242 for optimal quality and reliability.
- High‑Quality Material: Malleable cast iron (EN‑GJMW‑400‑5).
- Anti‑Corrosion Protection: Hot‑dip galvanized (approx. 70 µm), ensuring long life and an industrial raw look.
- Standard Female Threads (BSP): Both female threads are parallel (Rp) to ISO 7‑1. They mate with male taper threads (R) and require sealant for a perfect connection.
Indicative Dimensions
Centre‑to‑end is measured from the fitting centerline to the face of each outlet.
Thread | A / A1 – Centre‑to‑End (mm) | Approx. Weight |
---|---|---|
3/4'' x 1/2'' | ~ 33 / 29 mm | ~ 0.16 kg |
1'' x 1/2'' | ~ 38 / 32 mm | ~ 0.24 kg |
1'' x 3/4'' | ~ 38 / 35 mm | ~ 0.26 kg |
Note: A and A1 are the centre‑to‑end dimensions for the larger and smaller outlets, respectively.
Installation Tip
Pay attention to orientation so the reduction occurs in the desired direction. Sealing is done on the male threads of the parts you connect to the elbow.
