Wye 3-Way Galvanized Malleable Iron

The 45° Y‑distributor, or 45° “wye”, triple female (FFF) in hot-dip galvanized malleable cast iron is a specific branching fitting. It splits a main line into two distinct 45° branches, offering an alternative to a standard tee for particular hydraulic or aesthetic applications.

What is a wye used for?

Unlike a tee that creates a 90° branch, the Y‑distributor divides flow more gently and progressively. Main advantages:

• Improved flow: The two 45° branches minimize turbulence and pressure loss compared with a tee—an advantage where smooth circulation matters.
• Symmetrical distribution: Evenly splits flow into two separate lines.
• Distinctive aesthetic: In industrial‑style décor, its organic, symmetrical form is sought after for original structures (table bases, lights, etc.).

Technical Features (EN 10242 Compliance)

Manufactured to EN 10242 for optimal quality and reliability.

• High‑Quality Material: Malleable cast iron (EN‑GJMW‑400‑5).
• Anti‑Corrosion Protection: Hot‑dip galvanized (approx. 70 µm).
• Standard Female Threads (BSP): All three female threads are parallel (Rp) to ISO 7‑1. They receive male taper threads (R) and require sealant for a perfect connection.

Indicative Dimensions

Centre‑to‑end dimensions are measured from the fitting centerline to each face.

Note: “A” is the centre‑to‑end on the main entry; “B” is that of the two Y outlets. For an equal wye, A = B.

Installation Tip

Seal the three male threads you will screw into the distributor. Ensure there is enough room to accommodate both outgoing branches.
