Today, we present a "crush" project that pushes the boundaries of interior design: a complete adventure space integrating a climbing wall and "monkey bars".
The secret to this robust, safe, and incredibly stylish look? The repurposed use of our faithful black iron plumbing fittings. Forget plastic; here, we focus on raw metal, light wood, and careful lighting.
The Concept: When Heating Pipes Become Sports Equipment
The idea behind this project was to create an active sports and play space indoors without sacrificing aesthetics. The metal structures serve as side ladders for climbing and a "monkey bars" course on the ceiling.
For this project, the choice of diameter is crucial. It is made with 3/4" (20x27mm) size elements, offering the perfect balance between grip and rigidity.
The Ingredients to Recreate This Look
This project uses a smart combination of a few basic parts painted black for a flawless "factory" finish:
- Wall Anchor: The 3/4" Floor Flange.
Fixed with black screws on the wood, it is the base that ensures the structure's solidity. - Depth: The 10cm (3/4") Pipe.
It allows the ladder to be spaced off the wall to leave necessary room for feet and hands. - The Technical Turn: The 3/4" Street Elbow.
Compact and angular, it ensures the junction between the depth pipe and the bar. - The Bar: The 40cm (3/4") Black Steel Pipe.

The Importance of Details
What makes the difference are the finishes: the integration of an LED strip in the cornice to highlight the curves of the bars and the systematic use of black screws coordinated with the fittings.
