Cross-leg coffee table base, cast iron and varnished steel Ø 42 mm
The cross base in heavy pipe: Ø 42 mm and four-hole flanges
This is the most imposing version of our cross base. The black steel pipes move up to 1 inch 1/4 — 42 mm outside diameter — and the floor flanges gain a fourth fixing hole, for a diameter of 100 mm. The result is frankly massive: 9.6 to 16 kg of cast iron and steel, a base that will not budge under a 5 cm oak slab or a stone top. A genuinely industrial piece of furniture, for large tabletops and rooms with volume to spare.
Malleable cast iron and black steel, assembled by hand
Every base is put together in Annecy from genuine plumbing parts: a central cast iron cross, four rails, then four legs made of a tee, an upper pipe topped by a flange and a lower pipe closed by a coupling. No welding at all: the threads do all the work. Black plastic inserts sit inside the couplings to protect the floor.
Choosing the size and the height
Size refers to the square footprint. Allow 8 to 15 cm of tabletop overhang on each side: a 61 × 61 cm base carries a 75 to 90 cm top. With this pipe diameter the base is heavy and takes a generous tabletop without complaint.
Height follows your seating: 34 cm for a low living room, 44 cm for most sofas — the most versatile —, 54 cm for a deep sofa or an end table. The figure given is for the base alone: add the thickness of your tabletop to get the final height (44 cm + a 3 cm top = 47 cm).

The same base, other pipe diameters
This cross-leg base comes in three pipe diameters: Ø 27 mm, Ø 34 mm and Ø 42 mm (this page). The thicker the pipe, the heavier, steadier and bolder the base; the thinner it is, the more discreet the silhouette. The same frame is also offered at dining-table height (74 cm).
Details and features
A clear varnish protects the cast iron and the steel while leaving the raw look of the metal visible. Wipe it with a dry cloth; avoid water and abrasive cleaners. Indoor use only.
Pictures featuring a tabletop are staged; only the base is sold.
Slight variations in shade or surface are normal on cast parts: they belong to the raw, authentic character of Home Invasion products, and make every base one of a kind.

Detailed dimensions
The letters refer to the drawings below. All dimensions in centimetres; dimension A is measured from the outer edge of one flange to the opposite flange. Centre distances (B, C) are measured between flange centres — useful for drilling the top.
Tolerance: these are nominal dimensions. How far each fitting is tightened, together with casting tolerances, gives about ± 5 mm of variation on each dimension. Measure the base once assembled before drilling your tabletop or having it cut.

Would you rather build it yourself?
There is nothing sealed about this base: it is a fully screwed assembly, with no welding and no glue. Every part it is made of is in our catalogue and can be ordered separately — enough to build it with an adjustable spanner, change the lengths, or reuse only part of it.
